Communities along the Marikina River continue to face repeated flooding during monsoon rains and typhoons.

Nangka remains vulnerable to overflow from the Marikina River system. Heavy rainfall from
upstream watersheds regularly raises river levels and affects homes, roads, and public facilities.
Residents often prepare for evacuation whenever major weather disturbances approach Metro
Manila.
